On the Glamorization of Grammar

How many of you know that one friend who constantly feels the need to police others’ grammar? How many jeering implications that bad grammar is the downfall of the written word? Then of course there are those clowns, often featured on the news, who drive around with sharpies, zealously correcting bad grammar on signs – and I’m sure feeling mighty proud how they’re “rescuing the English language.”
